The Professional Teachers' Association of the Northern Territory (PTANT) is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children. The PTANT and its Member Associations want children to be happy, safe and empowered, supported, and respected.

We have zero tolerance of child abuse, and all allegations and safety concerns will be treated seriously and consistently. The PTANT and is Member Associations are committed to preventing child abuse and identifying risks early and removing and reducing these risks. 

We promote diversity and acceptance, and we:

  • Promote the cultural safety, participating and empowering of Aboriginal children
  • Promote the cultural safety, participaton and empowerment of children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Ensure that children with a disability are safe and can participate equally

PTANT will endeavour to provide regular training and education to our committee members and Member Associations on child abuse risks.
